Baby middle names are something a lot of parents struggles with. The first name is usually decided on after a lot of attention and focused thought.

The middle name does not always get the same attention - but arguably carries a lot of the burden.

For example many people actually prefer to use their middle name over their first name. In this case the middle name actually takes on more importance.

So here are some tips for helping you select the right middle name for your baby

1. Watch the initials! Who wants to branded forever with the initials POO or PEE or BUM?
2. Similarly to initials look how the name might appear on say a credit card e.g. Simon J. Edwards.
3. Listen to the whole name and see how it rolls off the tounge. Get the right cadence.
4. Consider a family name for a middle name. Often grandpaents get insulted when their name isn’t used to name one of the grandchildren. But you can slip it into the middle name and it works a treat!

Above all remember that your child has this name for life, so don’t act on a whim - but DO HAVE FUN coming up with the prefect baby middle name for your child
